Sunday Brunch - June 2, 2024
Welcome to the first All Shades Sunday Brunch! A weekly debrief of my week, what I've been reading, what I plan on reading next.
Hello friends! One thing I miss about living in NYC, is Sunday brunch. That was the time to debrief about the night before, catch up with old friends and family. It was the time to talk and chill!
Even though I live in VA now, so far from all my friends (so sad), I wanna bring back my weekly debrief!
So every Sunday, I am inviting you all to the All Shades Sunday Brunch!
I’ll give y’all a little debrief of my week in the form of Rose, Bud, Thorn. But I am switching it up with my favorite brunch foods. So Mimosa, Belgium Waffle, Turkey Bacon.
Rose ( Mimosa cause I love a good mimosa ) : Something that went well this week!
Bud ( Belgium Waffle cause this is the HIGHLIGHT of brunch ) : Something that I am looking forward to!
Thorn ( Turkey Bacon cause this is hit or miss, depends on the restaurant ) : Something that didn’t go so well this week!
I’ll also sprinkle in what books I am currently reading and my thoughts, as well as, what I plan on reading for the up coming week.
Sooooo for Welcome to the first All Shades Sunday Brunch!
✨Mimosa✨
I braided my hair by myself for the first time and IT WAS AWFUL. The taurus sun, leo moon in me was getting so pissed because I couldn’t get it perfect. I don’t think I will every do it again, but also it was my first time so maybe if I get my technique down I could be persuaded to try again lol. It was financially cheaper than getting it done professionally but emotionally and mentally more expensive LOL. If you missed the vlog, check it out here!
✨Belgium Waffle✨
I am so excited for the start of Pride Month! This is the first Pride that I am fully out to the world and feels so liberating. I didn’t realize how stifling pride month used to be for me or why and now I get it! I’m going to NYC for the parade and to hang out with my friends and I really need a vacation so Pride is about to be EPIC.
✨Turkey Bacon✨
I got this crazy big spider bite on my back and it’s KILLING me. Listen, I moved out of NYC for the slower life, but the BUGSSSS. And it’s crazy that I am so grossed out by them now cause when I was a kid I used to be outside all day catching grasshoppers with my BARE HANDS. Oh how the turn tables.
📚Currently Reading📚
I just stared Children of Blood and Bone for our book club! I am only 3% into but I am really enjoying the story telling.
I have been listening to Where the Dark Stands Still by A.B Poranek for like a month now and it’s a short book that I am actually enjoying, but it’s taking me SOOOOO long to finish. Idk why??
📚Up Next📚
I don’t know how I am going to start my pride month but I am thinking I might start with How to get the Girl by Anika Kelly. A nice queer sports romance feels like it could be a vibe!
Thanks for joining me for brunch! See y’all next week!
